Blue Baby Buggy With Baseballs
This is a cake I made for a baseball themed baby shower. White cake / Chocolate cupcakes covered in BC. Basically free handed the buggy based on SheilaF's picture from this website... but I used a cereal bowl for the basic size and used my Tupperware shaker insert as an outline to trace my wheels. Very rushed... barely had it done in time.

Pastor Appreciation Sheep In Pasture Cake
This is one of the cakes I made for our Pastor's anniversary at our church... However, I FORGOT to take a picture of it when it was all done (I was too concerned with hiding it before they got there) so none of my final details like GRASS and edging are in this picture!

Monogram Bridal Shower
This is a white cake covered in BC with the letter "G" in fondant. This specific monogram logo was requested and I added the rings and calla lily last minute because I thought the sides looked too empty. If I had known ahead of time, I think I would have made fondant bride and groom silhouettes on either side... but didn't have time.

Blue 3-D Teddy Bear & Smash Cake
This is an all white cake covered in BC. This was my first time making a 3-D cake and was specifically requested for a boy's first birthday. There is a slight color difference between the main body and arm... I did NOT make a new batch of icing... I'm not sure, but I think it actually got darker the longer my piping bag was in my hot hand??? Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any solutions? It took forever, but that's primarily because of life's interruptions... oh, and not to mention, my electric mixer BROKE and got little "pepper shavings" into my frosting that I had to scrape out! (and then had to go borrow my mother-in-law's mixer for the day). Whew!

Tiered First Birthday
This is the cake I made for my daughter's first birthday... it's white, chocolate and yellow cake covered in BC with MMF accents. This is the biggest cake I've done so far (5 cake mixes, 6 lbs pwd sugar, 2 lbs butter, 18 eggs, etc.) and was my first time using Wilton's 3" deep pans. It took way longer to bake than I expected... and I think I'd rather have more frosting layers inside (instead of just one)... but pleased overall with the finished product.

Baby Shower Pregnant Silhouette
This is a 1/2 white 1/2 chocolate cake I made for a baby shower. It's covered in blue BC, and the white and chocolate are MMF. I got the idea and the template for the silhouette from this wonderful website. I had a little trouble with my paper template sticking to the fondant after I traced it. Any suggestions for next time?

Blue Ipod Bday Cake (First Time Covering With Fondant!)
This was the first time I covered a cake with fondant... what a learning experience! It took WAAAAY longer than I expected, but am fairly pleased with the finished product (especially for my first time.) I used Rhonda's Ultimate MMF recipe which tasted great, but next time I'll add the coloring when I mix it up the day before and take it out of the fridge in advance to get it a little softer & more pliable... because it took me more than an hour to knead all the coloring in (chunk by chunk)! I was going to add ear buds, but I ran out of time. My hands were so shaky and tired from all the kneading, my lettering didn't turn out well either. Whew! I'm tired.

Snow Man Birthday Cake
This is a 1/2 chocolate 1/2 white cake I made with all BC (the snowman's nose is made of sprinkles). I was not pleased with my snowflakes and actually liked the cake better before I added them... they made the writing harder to read. Next time I'll either try it without snowflakes or use a dark color for the writing. This is the first cake I used the "foam roller" method to smooth the icing and loved it -- it worked wonderfully!

Day At The Spa
I copied this "A Moment for Mom" cake from AmyBeth I loved it so much. Our group birthday gift to my sister-in-law was a day at the spa, so this cake fit perfectly. I was pressed for time, so I couldn't do as many bubbles as I would have liked and didn't get a chance to fix some of the imperfections... but over all I was very pleased with how well it turned out. I used fondant for the bubbles, towels, faucet, and tub rim and used BC for the rest. I used pearl dust on the bubbles.
