Fire Truck Cake
Made this for my son's 3rd birthday. Made it out of a 9x13 and three 6" squares. Carved and stacked to make this shape. Iced in buttercream with fondant details. Wheels are RKT covered in fondant. Most of the gray on cake was painted with silver luster dust (mixed with orange oil) to make it look like metal. He LOVED it!

Cake was iced in buttercream with fondant drum top, rim, and drum sticks. Ninja is hand molded out of fondant. The writing on the top of the drum is "16" in Japanese. TFL!

Spiderman Birthday Cake
Similar to the other Spiderman cake I made. Got the Spiderman to be more upright this time. Spidey is all fondant, and I painted the black web onto his suit this time (I piped it last time). I painted with gel color, thinned out with vodka. The webs were made from RI this time (fondant last time). The spiders are fondant. The bottom and middle tier is cake, and the third tier (the gray building) is rice cereal treats covered in fondant. TFL!

Beach Wedding
Made this cake for a couple's wedding shower. They were getting married on the beach in NC. The wedding colors were blue and yellow and the bride's bouquet was going to be daisies. Chairs were hand crafted out of fondant/gumpaste mix. Iced in all buttercream with graham cracker crumbs for the sand.

Spiderman Cake
First two tiers are iced in buttercream. Top tier (the building) is covered in fondant. All accents are fondant, including the spiderman which was molded by hand. I should have used 50/50 gumpaste/fondant mix for spiderman though. He was a little more 'hunched over' than I wanted. Couldn't get him to stay upright. Turned out pretty good despite his lazy posture. :)

I Pad Cake
Made for a husband's going away party. He loves tech gadgets (I Pad) and music (he has these specific head phones). So the wife wanted to combine the two. The I Pad background is a picture of Richmond, VA (which is where the man was moving), printed on rice paper. The I Pad apps were all hand made. The cake is covered in fondant. The head phones were rice krispie treats covered in fondant. TFL!

The rest of the plane was hand molded (the support bars were lolly pop sticks and toothpicks painted black with edible paint). The 2D plane on the side and the banner are fondant. The cake is iced in buttercream. TFL!

Twin Baby Shower
Made this cake to match the baby shower invitation. The mom-to-be was having twins, a boy and a girl. So the nest had one blue and one pink egg. The cake is iced in buttercream. The branches for the nest were rolled fondant and the eggs were molded fondant. The nest was 2 6" cakes stacked and carved, then covered in the fondant 'sticks'. TFL!
