Cian's 1St Birthday!
A cake I wanted to make for a friend's little guy who's turning 1 this year! Chocolate and sponge cake in layers covered in fondant with fondant accents. At 3:30 am the night before I realized I had no toothpicks and improvised using uncooked spaghetti to anchor the heads into the cake. This cake was inspired by Anna Banana's cake that I here on CC. Thanks to her and for looking ~

Christmas Cupcakes
I made some cupcakes for each person in my department, with a specific person in mind for each. Then just a batch of unified ones in case some wanted seconds. Yellow buttercake with fondant decorations for the custom ones and then cream cheese buttercream for the swirly chocolate rosette cupcakes. I did learn a valuable lesson however about sealing cake with fondant decorations in a air tight container as you can tell by the melted fondant bow on the wreath cupcake. It stood firm and 3D when it was created, oh well, live and learn.

Snowman Cake
My building has events for holidays and this was a cake I made for this. I like how this cake turned out except for the piped writing. The swirls on the cupcakes are pretty baren looking now that I've discovered the right tip to create large swirly swirls like on my blue flower cupcakes. Again I marbled brown and white which is subtle but nice looking for this theme since it kind of resembles drifting snow.

Nan's Birthday
This is a cake for my Nan's bday. She's part of the Red Hat Society so it seemed fitting to have a red hat on the cake. I tried yellow and white fondant marbling but I may have kneaded too much because the marble look I was hoping for was really subtle. Perhaps if someone has a suggestion on good technique to marble two colours in fondant, please let me know. Thanks

It's A Boy!
This is my first cake (did with a friend) and first time working with fondant, kinda tricky, did it all a little backwards (carefully peeled the fondant off the counter and slipped our hands (palms down) under the fondant and manoeuvered it onto the cake, lol) and laugh about it now. The rolling pin is definetly a much easier way to get it done.

Hallow's Eve Cake- Mouuuuuha-Ha-Ha-Ha
My first cake made without a mould, and with little hand made bonhommes. This is four layers of white cake separated by a chocolate buttercream (thanks Cake Bible) and the little dudes are all made out of ready made Bulk Barn white fondant. This was a lot of fun but took me a few days so the cake was a little shall we say, ah-stale. In future I'll have to hussle more :) I loved throwing on the headphones and sitting at the kitchen table just making the details, man it's fun!
