Toy Story Themed Birthday Cake
for my nephews 3rd birthday. i used dark brown, light brown, and white fondant rolled together to make the "hardwood floors" I rolled it out until i got the wood grain pattern then laid it over my board and used a pizza cutter to make the indentions for the boards. the cake is a devils food cake with cookies and cream icing. i used gum paste to make the head board. the pillow and the "cardboard boxes" are fondant covered rice krispie treats. all the figurines are toys, except hamm, i could not find him anywhere so ny husband made him...not to bad for his first time! anyway thanks for looking and thanks to all my fellow cc members for their pictures to help me with mine.

Chocolate Valentine's Day Cake
This is a 1234 cake covered in chocolate buttercream in the basket weave design. I dipped strawberries and cherries in melted milk chocolate. Then drizzled melted white chocolate and pink tinted white chocolate over them. When they dried I arranged them on top of the cake. This was my first time trying the 1234 cake and it was really simple to make. The taste and texture is very similar to pound cake. This is my present to my husband for Valentine's Day.

Yu-Gi-Oh Birthday Cake
my son is a yu gi oh fan, and when i asked him what design he wanted on his cake this year you can guess what he told me. he found a coloring book page and gave it to me. at first i thought i was going to have to trace an outline then fill it in. but my icing was not dry enough and the pic stuck and ruined the outline forcing me to completely freehand it, i still dont know how i did it. lol. anyways thanks for looking

Cinderella Birthday Cake
I make my niece's birthday cakes every year. Last year she wanted a cinderella cake. I always like to try different techniques when decorating a cake. For this cake I found a technique online where you reverse the image put it under a piece of glass that is covered in greased saran wrap and trace the image with colored icing. You then stick it in the freezer until the icing is frozen. Working quickly you flip the image over onto the cake and peal away the saran wrap and it leaves the finished image on the cake. It turned out okay but I still prefer to hand draw my images onto the cake.

First of all I need to give credit to Anita B. I found her version of this cake on coolest-birthday-cakes.com. I made a few changes, the spiderman is a design I found online and I changed up the colors a little bit. The cake is chocolate pound cake with buttercream icing. all decorations are colored buttercream icing.
