This was my daughter's 4th B-Day cake. She had several requests: it had to be pink, yellow, white and red; it had to have pearls, flowers and ruffles, and it had to be pretty. This is what I came up with.

Mardi Gras Cake
I made this Mardi Gras cake for a local business who contracted me to make a monthly birthday cake for thier staff. Most of the time, I have free reign on design and theme. For March I decided to go with this. The mask is hand crafted from gumpaste, with gumpaste accents and silver dragees - all hand painted. My client loved the mask so much, they have decided to keep it and display it at their office. TFL

Pink Quinceanera Cake
Quinceanera celebration display. The cake design was based off of a picture the client gave me that they found on Pink Cake Box's website. This was my interpretation of the cake. The flowers are gumpaste and the "pearls" are sixlets. They also wanted butterflies around the cake so I found some at my local craft store (non-edible). The crown is actually a hair comb we used as well. TFL

Australia Day Cake
I have a local business that requests a monthly cake for all their employees birthday's. Two days before the cake was due they sent me a request to make the cake in with the theme of Australia Day. I had never heard of it but apparently they have quite a few Aussie Transplants here in sunny California that work for the company. Of course I had to comply and this is what I came up with. I found the drawing on an Australia Day website - it was done by a cartoonist for kids to color. I traced the drawing onto fondant and "colored" it with food coloring. TFL
