Movie Script
This was one of two cakes that I made for a colleague who left to pen a screenplay for a major Hollywood motion picture. I only had a few days warning and had just finished my second level one Wilton class cake. I really wanted to do something nice for him. This is a chocolate cake with buttercream icing and filling. I used a Wilton comb for the page-like edges. It was a lot of fun to make, and he was so surprised and thankful. He was really excited that I gave him his first star. :)

Movie Reel
This was one of two cakes that I made for a colleague who left to pen a screenplay for a major Hollywood motion picture. I only had a few days warning and had just finished my second level one Wilton class cake. I really wanted to do something nice for him. This one is a chocolate cake with buttercream icing and filling. The "film" is a blue fruit roll up. I got the idea for that from a web search. I used a Wilton comb for the indentations on the edges. It was a lot of fun to make, and he was so surprised and thankful.

My 1St Cake
This was the first cake I made for my Wilton Class. It was a white cake with strawberry filling and almond flavored icing. I used thin instead of medium consistency for the dam, so you can see that the filling started to pudge. It was also very almondy...that happens when you read the recipe wrong for the flavoring measurements. Tablespoons and teaspoons are VERY different measurements. Luckily it still tasted good, especially for those who loved almond flavoring. I turned this into a birthday cake for my boss, though she didn't get to enjoy it as she left town that day. She still loved the pictures though, and the cake went fast!
