Rubber Ducks for a Baby Girl
Had not been too inspired to do a lizard as requested. I thought I would probably draw a lizard. But 31/2 hours before it was due, I tried to make one from some leftover mf. I was pretty happy with the results and it was much faster than if I had drawn it. I reshaped his back leg after noticing it was crooked in the picture.
This cake was done for my son's wedding. He's into Elvis; she's into Monroe. They had a retro Hollywood theme and wanted their cake to reflect that. Their colors were black & gold. Scroll work was free handed. "Diamonds" were scattered around base & table instead of rose petals. Next time would not use led lights as I felt it didn't blend well with the warm feel of the candles and gold tones.
This is my first rolled fondant cake. It was my daughter who likes things simple. I learned how to do the stargazers from CakeCentral.
