This cake was made for a friend who is a retired Air Force pilot (planes along base), retired LAPD Sheriff (hand cuffs) and he loves Buzz Lightyear. Buttercream icing is airbrushed.
This cake was for a 12 year old boy's birthday who likes Rock Band. The cakes are all buttercream. For the black I started with chocolate buttercream and added black coloring, so I wouldn't have to use too much coloring and also so it didn't taste like the coloring. Each drum cake and foot pedal cake are color coordinated to the games color scheme. I was told that the adults at the party got a bigger kick out of that than the kids did. All in all I think it came out pretty good!!
