I made this for my daughter's preschool graduation. All of my inpiration came from CC members! It's an 11 x 15 chocolate and vanilla cake with raspberry, bavarian cream filling. The grad cap bottom was made out of rice ceral treats, covered in fondant. The top of the cap is foil wrapped cardboard, covered in fondant. The kids and parents loved the stars with the names on them. Thanks for looking :)
When I made the teapot cake, I realized it was to heavy to stack easily and transport. I decided to make two seperate cakes. My daughter really wanted a little pond with rocks, and a tree branch so - voila!
Made out of rice cereal treats, white and chocolate fondant. Some of it was made during a power outage - using flashlights. Check out Part II !
I made this cake for my son's first birthday. I was inspired by a few cakes I saw here on cake central, but based it mainly on jamiekwebb's cake. I had planned on colouring in the bandana's, but had to settle with the paisley imprint as I ran out of time. Will post more closeups soon. Thanks for looking!
This is a cake I made for a woman who has not yet had the baby, but her co-workers wanted to throw her a going-away/shower cake. First time I ever made sneakers...it was time consuming, but I am pretty happy with the outcome.
Wilton Class Final cake, vanilla cake with strawberry filling, strawberry flavoured fondant. Flowers were 1/2 gumpaste 1/2 fondant, fondant leaves and drape.
I wish I knew then what I know now. It was a fun cake, but I did not know that getting fondant wet was not a good idea until it started to crack. I also think the fondant should have been thiner as well. The cake was a hit with adults and kids alike.
First time using fondant cutouts. Too bad the brown lettering bled into the cake. Any ideas how to avoid this in the future?
