This was my first wedding cake, Gumpaste flower (my first). Yes I know you can see the foil poking out underneath the cakes, which was a mistake. This was done as a gift for the couple at cost. I was pretty happy with how it came out, and the bride was happy, which is the most important thing.
Got this Idea from a lot of cakes I saw here. The Hat & Georges face are made of RKT covered in Fondant. I wasn't 100% happy with it, but the gal I made it for loved it...I guess that's what counted.

This was for my friend's 30th bday. I saw cute dangly jewels for sale online so I decided to make my own. I wasn't too happy with the Black fondant (I made my own Choc MMF and tinted black) it was super greasy b/c I had to use lots of Shortening but crumbly at the same time...weird. The water I used to stick the fondant on got tinted black and dripped down the cake. But I was the only one who noticed.
I tried to copy a pic I found online, but had some "engineering" problems with Mickey's head, so the neck turned out really long so I could put it on the top layer. Also the little girl's name was much longer than the samples...She liked it though
This was for a baby shower. I made the animals out of home made gumpaste to match the decorations. They were kind of clunky, but it worked.
Attempt number two. The fondant was a little thin, so the cake was kind of lumpy. I took a rectangular cake and trimed it to square.
This was my first attempt with fondant for a friends birthday. I think it turned out pretty well.
