Mustang Fastback

Mustang Fastback

I made this for my Son's 16th birthday celebration. He loves mustangs. Everyone loved it. Covered in regular homemade fondant. Everything else also made from fondant including tires. I used blocks of wood under the cloth covering the cakeboard to elevate the center of the cake and allow the tires to be placed in "suspension" from the body of the car just like regular tires would appear. Great success, tons of work, oodles of hours.

Fall Anniversary Cake

Fall Anniversary Cake

I made this for a 40th wedding anniversary. I used buttercream icing over heavenly pumpkin spice cake (1st layer), Chocolate (2nd layer) and Vanilla (3rd layer). All cakes are filled with the coordinating flavored fillings, yum. Flowers on top are actually silk, but look phenomenal. All the leaves on the cake are gumpaste and handpainted and dusted. Two color ribbon accent worked well to hide space between layers. Second ribbon was applied after cakes were stacked. Cloth covered presentation board.

Sarah's Tea Pot Cake

Sarah's Tea Pot Cake

Saw a picture for this idea and loved it so we tried to duplicate it. We actually made it a little more sophisticated but kept it child-like by adding a few extra whimsical friends such as a butterfly on the handle and a dragonfly amongst the flowers in addition to the bumble bee that was in the original idea. Lots of work but was very impressive. Gumpaste flowers, everything else in fondant.
