This was my first two tiered cake that was this large. I doweled the cake, my first time, and thankfully it held up really well. I did vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache filling. I covered it in fondant and painted the bows with edible paint. Had so much fun designing this cake to match the invitations.

This is my FIRST BRIDAL SHOWER Cake and it was for a dear cousin of mine. I wanted it to be perfect. Her colors are red black and grey. our family is from a long line of confederate soldiers and we wanted to show respect for our southern heritage through a 1860 wedding that is coming up in September.

My husband made this cake for my 50th birthday. Yes, he really did. He's watched me make enough cakes that he surprised me for my 50th birthday with this cake. I make hair bows, raise chickens, ride horses, make cakes and love parrots of all kinds, especially cockatiels. He put all my loves on the cake. He got up in the middle of the night and worked on this cake while I was sleeping, then he hid it and washed all the cake stuff and put it up. He did this two nights in a row and then gave me the most wonderful 50th surprise party.
