Fondant & Gumpaste Final

Fondant & Gumpaste Final

Now I just need to learn how to cover a cake, and make it NOT look like a marshmellow! Hopefully my neighbors won't mind - butter/blueberry cake with cream cheese/blueberry filling and plain vanilla buttercream.

Fondant & Gumpaste Class#2

We were learning the drapping and hankerchief techniques....on the same cake. It looks a little silly, but I liked the drapped side.

Can I just say how sad I am that the # is backwards? I learned a lot about layering though....the next one will turn out much better - can't wait!

Groom Cake - Golf!

Groom Cake - Golf!

My best friend is getting married and she convinced me to try my first cake as a present for her husband to be. Thank You to all of the CCers for helping me between recipes, design and techniques! The bottom is 8" Chocolate Fudge with Chocolate Ganache filling and the golf ball is a loaf pan White Cake cut in half, filled with chocolate ganache, then trimmed to look like a ball (next time I will just buy the darn pan). I used a rounded dowel dipped in corn startch to make the dimples. The grass is made with BC and the rose petal tip for lack of a better idea. TFL
