Glue Bottle Cake
This cake was baked for the 2009 Threadcakes competition..It was based on a T-Shirt that said "A hug is my favorite adhesive", so I decided to make a glue bottle for the design. The bottle part is a white cake 9 x 13, covered in fondant I tinted blue and orange. The bottle cap is made from a 9 inch round carved into the shape, then attached to the bigger cake.

Super Mario Groom's Cake
This cake was my very first cake. It was for a friend's small wedding. The cake itself is a two layer cherry chip cake covered in fondant drawn to look like mario bricks. The figures on top are marzipan and edible except for the princess' veil. The mushrooms are made of marzipan with piped dots, and the question blocks are fondant with question marks drawn on with food marker. The pipe base is made of styrofoam that I covered with green marzipan I had colored, which explains why it looks so lumpy and bumpy. Had I known what I know now about fondant being much easier to cover an object with than marzipan it would have probably looked much better..But it was my first cake, so I was proud :)

I made this cake for my brother's soccer team. It's a 3-layer 10 inch chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and then everything else is fondant. I made my first cake ever in February 2009..then didn't make another cake until June 2009 (and made this one last week)..So I'm still learning the ropes ;)
