House, Building Or Spiderman Scene
Cake for my son's fifth birthday. I never completely finished the cake. I was supposed to paint/color the bricks but after keeping the cake in the fridge, it never fully dried so the bricks and the door were left unpainted. Sidewalks and board are fondant with tylose powder. Tree is floral wires covered with modeling chocolate. It's supposed to be a Spiderman scene where the Sandman has been and destroyed the car and left traces of himself. Spiderman on the roof of building is a candle. Sorry for the background.

Hookah Cake!
A friend of my husband asked me to make a Hookah Cake for his parent's birthday (they share the same birthday). Vanilla cake with chocolate ganache. The cake is the bowl and the rest is made with gum paste. The part above the plate is made with styro foam because I did not want anything too heavy up there.

Tea Party Cake
Tea Party Cake for a girl (Nikki) who turned 6. The cake is covered in fondant and the cups are mini cup cakes with chocolate on top and fondant around. The other details are 50/50 fondant and gum paste. I hand painted the tea set to give it a flat surface. The color came out very blueish on my photos but it really was a pretty purple. I painted raspberries on the tea bags to make it look like raspberry tea. Inside the cake I used raspberry butter cream to match the tea bags.

Kung Fu Panda Cake
Cake with the Kung Fu Panda Theme for an 8 year old boy. 10 inch square cake (chocolate w. choc. bc). Background landscape is painted with food color (and vodka). The images on the sides are cut out from gum paste and painted before attached. Mountain is made of rice krispy treats and a small bit of styrofoam on the very top. Panda is made from gum paste. I have never made figures before so I was worried about the construction of the cake. At first, when I attached the panda to the mountain I only had RKT inside and it could not hold the weight of the panda. So I added some styrofoam and that did the trick. It held up really well and did not move at all during the party.

Under Water Cake
This cake was for my son's birthday. The octopus is made with 50/50 gp + fondant. When I made the front right arm I wrapped the arm around a skewer. Right before the party, I added a skewer with a flag saying Happy Birthday but before I could take a picture, a girl had poked a hole on the side of the cake so I skipped it. My sons love ocean animals so this was fun to make because it made them happy. I put two scuba divers on the side to be the birthday boy and his older brother. Sea shells, stars and crabs are either gum paste or fondant. Swim mask on scuba divers is poured sugar.
