Half vanilla butter cake, half cherry chip. Iced in buttercream with fondant decorations. Many thanks to fellow CC'ers for the design inspiration - I had never seen a cake with this 'step' design until seeing some on here!
Doll cake for my daughter's 4th birthday - she wanted a pink Cinderella. Used a Cinderella doll but took off her legs before inserting torso into cake. Idea for dress came from someone here on CC, sorry I can't remember who!
Standard cross cake out of buttercream. For the stained-glass effect I broke up lollipops and arranged them onto a cookie sheet in a cross shape, coming as close to the right size as possible. Heated them in the oven on a low temp until pliable and then used a spatula to straighten the edges. Let cool and applied to cake top. Took a few tries to get it the right size and not break when I removed it from the cookie sheet!
Made for a 40th birthday with a luau theme. Buttercream with fondant figures & surfboards. Used Twix bars for the trees and dry ice to make the volcano smoke
