Blue's Clues Cake
This was for my son's 1st birthday... all of the figures are plastic. The house is a tie dye lemon cake with lemon buttercream and the yard is chocolate with cream cheese frosting. The tree and tire swing are modeling chocolate. The tree top and bush are both small sports ball cakes. It was a big hit at the party.
This was for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She loves the Backyardigans so this is what I came up with. It is a strawberry cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream for the filling. The characters are a Buttercream transfer... this was my first attempt. The transfer was raised higher on the cake than I would have likes so I filled in the top with the grass tip. I think it worked out pretty well. She loved it!
This was my very first attempt at this sort of cake. The tablecloth, benches, food, drinks and condements are all made from fondant. Got the idea from wilton book.
This was just a cake I came up with for my husbands boss... it was her "me" day. It was the middle of winter so I gave her a little sunshine!
This was my first wedding cake, it was for my niece. I loved doing it. Simple buttercream with gumpaste roses. Also my first attempt at gumpaste.
This was for my granddaughters first birthday. I was a little sad that the big top seemed to be leaning a bit but everyone loved it. All in all I think it turned out great!
My first attempt at a jelly roll cake and fondant. It turned out pretty well, I just needed to roll the fondant thinner.
This Abby cake was for my daughter's 1st birthday. Abby is her favorite. I had a little difficulty with the mouth but everyone thought it was awesome.
This taco cake was made for my nephew. The sour cream is just buttercream, the cheese is yellow candy melts, shredded, the lettuce is candy melts I colored and poured onto wax paper, let cool and then cut into shreds. The taco meat is crumbled red velvet cake and the tomatoes are marichino cherries.
