This was one of those cakes where the design changed as I went - luckily it is for a couple that gave me "Carte Blanche" and only required it to be white with some red roses. I sooo love the look of the billowing with the edible diamonds. It was my first for each tier technique and I'm happy with the results :) Kinda Valentines-ish.

This cake was made by using a stainless steel bowl as the mold and then an 8" round cake pan. I wrapped the dolls legs and lower body in plastic wrap before inserting in the cake.
I bought the feathers as a decoration for my home, but looking at them inspired me to create a cake :)
Unfortunately I had pre-ordered a chocolate mold to make a bottle as the topper 3 weeks in advance, but it wasn't shipped out on time (bad seller!)... so I had to make do...It was a little disappointing because I wanted the cake to be completely edible - but the recipients were happy anyways :)
This was a deep chocolate cake with ricotta icing.
To make the "hood" I used a stainless steel bowl I had in kitchen with white chocolate.
All decorations are made from fondant. I have made similar cakes in the past using the rice crispies treats for the feet and legs but have found that although much heavier, it is quicker and easier to just use fondant.

The first corset cake I have ever done. I really liked the results! Heart shape pan for the bodice and sports ball pans for the "3D" effect. Chocolate cake covered in fondant.
