I made this the following week for my grandma's birthday at the request of my grandpa. I used titles from her favorite books and made the roses out of gum paste by hand. I don't have my petal cutter yet, so I just used a really sharp exacto! This also is my first attempt at airbrushing. Everyone loved it!
I made this for my mom's 50th. We planned a little surprise party - T and I went over to their house while her and my dad were visiting my grandparents and decorated everything in black. Dang, did we catch her by surprise! And that is a hard thing to do! It was great.

This is vanilla cake with vanilla frosting, covered with mmf. Took it to the fire station down the street. They liked it a lot!
The whole sofa is cake that I carved into the correct shape, covered in mmf and royal icing accents. The cat and pillow are also mmf - I was playing around with the mmf recipe to see if I could get it to hold up like gum paste.

Made this for T3 in Austin, TX. They have a picture of this hanging in their office and I just replicated it in 3D. The whole tank is cake! It was layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with chocolate frosting in between.
This was for my friend who just bought a house. I wanted to try a tiered cake with crooked/uneven layers, but the layers weren't tall enough to begin with! Haha, so it just kinda looks lopsided!! Oh well, it was lemon cake with a fresh lemon frosting, mmf covering with gum paste houses/sign and royal icing accents.
T was a scout in the Army for 8 years and has his scout hat hanging up in our house. I decided to surprise him with a cake of it one night! The main hat is cake covered in mmf and the brim is gum paste. I didn't have my airbrush set up yet :( so the black wasn't what I wanted, gum paste is a pain to color black! It ends up looking purple..weird!
