Geometric Graduation
This was a cake I made for a graduate who was looking for something that was fun and non-traditional. She found a cup that had a colorful geometric pattern that she loved, so we turned the cup's design into a cake. The cake itself is cookies-n-cream with dark chocolate ganache filling, buttercream icing, and MMF accents.

Happy Father's Day
Okay, so I was so intrigued by the pancake cakes I've been seeing on here, that I just had to give it a shot for Father's Day. Thank you to everyone who has shared their "how-to's" for this cake...it definitely was easier than I thought it was going to be! The cake underneath is chocolate chocolate-chip with peanut butter filling.

Traditional Scroll With Bow
This cake's design came from the couple's invitation, which was a rich ivory color covered in large scroll work. The cake is covered in MMF and the bow is made from pre-made fondant. The cake sits on a stand that was handcrafted by the groom's grandfather for their wedding. The pedestal was supposed to be much larger at the base, but I tried to make it work the best I could - definitely made it a little tricky to transport!

Modern Yellow
Here's a cake I made this weekend. The bride had a picture of a cake that she really loved and asked if I could replicate it, so here's my version. Unfortunately I have no idea who made the original cake - so I can't give them the design credit. The cake itself is iced with buttercream and the decorations are done with royal icing.

Daisies And Lace
Here's a cake I created for a good friend of the family. Her instructions were that she wanted a cake that was crisp, clean and elegant. The cake was detailed with cornelia lace piping and fresh gerber daisies cascaded down the corner for a unique twist on a traditional square cake. The cake itself was alternating layers of white and chocolate cake covered with traditional buttercream.

Tropical Bridal Shower
My sister-in-law asked me to create a colorful, tropical cake for a bridal shower she was hosting. The cake is iced with traditional buttercream and decorated with hibiscus flowers made from royal icing. One tier was vanilla cake with a raspberry mousse filling, and the other was chocolate-chocolate chip cake with a peanut butter buttercream filling. Too bad they didn't save me a piece ;)

Look Whoo's Turning 1
Here's a cake I made for my daughter's birthday. It's not my cleanest work, but for some reason I never leave enough time to do my own kids' cakes. It's like the shoemaker's children that never have shoes that fit ;) In any case, the cake was vanilla with raspberry mousse, iced and decorated in buttercream, except for the owl that was made from MMF.

Backdrop For A Princess
Here's a cake I made for a little girl who wanted a Princess and the Frog cake. To avoid the wrath of Disney, I created the cake to be the backdrop for princess figurines that the mom was going to purchase and add to the cake. The cake is 8" and 10" rounds iced with buttercream and accented with fondant letters and water lilies.

S'mores Wedding Cake
The bride and groom loved s'mores and wanted to capture that in their wedding cake. The cake (torted with marshmallow filling and ganache) was covered in MMF and torched to look toasted, the graham cracker layers were boards covered in fondant, and the melted chocolate was spreadable ganache.

3D Mermaid
My daughter wanted to have a Mermaid birthday party so I thought I would take my first stab at a 'real' 3D cake. The mermaid is sculpted out of RKT and covered with fondant. The rock itself is the actual cake (chocolate & white). I had so many more details planned (like splashing water on the rock, seaweed, fuller hair) but needless to say I ran out of time. Took a little longer than I anticipated!

Tiffany Box Inspired Cake
My friend was throwing a bridal shower using the color of a Tiffany Box as her theme. She wanted a "quilted" cake to match her swatch exactly- which thankfully it did! I would have loved to put some flowers or something on it, but my friend specifically said that she wanted just a quilted cake - no other decorations. The cake itself is yellow with bavarian cream filling, chocolate butter cream icing, and homemade fondant with edible pearls.
