Strawberry Daiquiri
I learned this recipe on Betty Crocker's website and have since adapted it to my own tastes. This time I added too much cool whip to the frosting though, thats why it looks poured on. It was. Aside from that learning curve, the cake was WONDERFUL and I highly recommend it for your girls night parties! This was made for my birthday party which was a girls night/moms night in. It does contain Rum extract and lime.

Pool Party Cake
This was my 2nd attempt at using the largest oval pan from Wilton. I learned a lesson or two this time! I tried to do strawberry and chocolate together side by side. I learned that strawberry takes longer to cook than chocolate, and that if its not completely done on both sides, it WILL fall apart! The final product was solely strawberry. The accessories are all made of fondant. Learned I hate making Red fondant from White. That's why they are orange pool toys. Since I disliked making red so much, I decided to draw/paint the life saver's red stripes....did not work so well! OH...and if you wet the fondant, or freeze it, it will look extremely shiny...must learn how to make shiny fondant that isn't sticky! This was also my first time making buttercream from home, and it turned out so great!! I also got to get a whole new tip kit just for the white piping on the sides!

American Idol Disaster
This cake was doomed from the start. Definitely not my finest moment as a beginner in the cake making world. First I tried to make the navy frosting all wrong, got help from the lady at the cake store, then it would NOT spread well or smooth out. Then I botched up the edging and the light blue under the white on the logo by using the wrong tip. Sigh. The good news: Everyone loved it. The bad news: The frosting tasted like food coloring.
