I made it!! 'Tis my final cake. Whew, that's enough cake for a month! My roses suck and I need more practice. Carpal tunnel doesn't help when piping stiff icing
This cake was for my co-worker. She is now officially a grandmom. Simple and kinda reminds me of a grandmom's hat :)
Here I am again practicing my heart out  I was at Walmart yesterday and bought stencil. I wanted to practice this technique. I'm just afraid I'm gonna make a boo-boo if I do it on the side of a cake. Hmmm....
My first 2-tiered princess castle cake.
This was the cake I did last night (Thursday). My friend's daughter needed a birthday cake and she only told me Wednesday night! This was inspired from Wilton's Beginner Cakes handbook. I think I did pretty well for short notice :-)
Was goofing around and testing if I could do a plaque. Also wanted to try my hand at painting fondant. Here's the result. Not fantastic and needs more work. I'll get there some day :-)
Just practicing with fondant. Tried doing this shoe and I know it needs a lot of work but I'm getting there. p.s. been only doing cake decorating for 2 months :-)
Practice cake for final class in Course 1. Tried my hand in painting as well. Need more work LOL. Yellow cake with crusting cream cheese frosting. Whew, what an experience!! :)
My two-toned clown cake for Course 1 Lesson 2.
I had to use them so here they are! The cake is covered in MMF and the flowers are chocolate/candy clay.
Here's my stepdaughters cake. I taught her how to make candy clay roses (she made the purple ones) and we used some that I made LOL. I iced the cake and she piped and decorated it.
With loads of leftover buttercream for my Course 1 class, I let my stepkids decorate their own cake with a little help from me LOL. Here's Mikey's buttercream and ball cake
Again, just fooling around with colors using candy clay.
I was just goofing around with some candy/chocolate clay and played with some leftover jelly beans from Christmas.
This is my Course 1 Lesson 1. It's an original design and I had so much fun decorating my cake! Thanks to everyone in CC who helped me!
Here's my first ever batch of gumpaste roses.
Chocolate Almond Sour Cake with Peanut Butter filling in Creamy Fudge Icing accented with lillies and heart shaped peanut butter candy and a butterfly. Hope you like it!
Obviously done by an amateur but it was fun working and messing up the buttercream (see lower left side of cake) LOL.
My first attempt at MMF.
