Tinkerbell Birthday Cake
This is actually my first paid cake. Made it for the grand-daughter of a very special aunt. Of course she got a discount. LOL. The cake is 9x13 white with cream cheese added. Buttercream icing. Fondant cut-outs. Painted Tinkerbell fondant cut-out. I am a HUGE fan of Tinkerbell, so I had a lot of fun making this cake. Hopefully the first of many 'paid' cakes. Thanks for looking.

Bride And Groom Cookies
These were inspired by helipop's cookies. I know that mine are far from being that good, but I wanted the practice and this was my first try with antonia74 royal icing. I used cocoa candy melts on the tuxedos (huge mistake). I couldn't get it to smooth out and the more I tried to work with it, the worse it got. I'll keep trying though because I enjoy doing the cakes and cookies so much. I used the NFSC recipe from this website.

Summer Fun-Dant!
It's summer and I haven't really had a chance to work with fondant very much, so I decided to make a summer cake. I had seen a cake on CC that someone did with a pool that I liked. The water looked so real. I used colored piping gel for mine. I used coconut and food coloring for the grass. The cake is devil's food (thought that would look more like dirt showing through). I tinted some buttercream to match the grass. The food, drinks, table, umbrella, picnic basket, towels, flowers and little bald people in floats are all made with fondant. Everything is edible except the umbrella pole which is a lollipop stick. The cake was approximately 11x13 with a 6" round carved cake for the pool. I had a blast making this cake. I will definately be working with fondant again. Thanks to everyone at Cake Central for the inspiration and thanks for looking.

Practice Cake
This was a cake I made for practice. My sister-in-law had bought me a mini bear cake pan and I wanted to try it out. I had also made some royal icing bows and hearts and I wanted to see what they were going to look like. After using the bear shaped pan, I've discovered that I don't really like them that much. The finished bear doesn't really look much like a bear to me. The bows and hearts came out alright, but looked a little dull to me. I think I may have made the icing too stiff. Anyway, just a practice cake. Thanks for looking.

Anniversary Cake
I made this for my mom and dad for their 38th Anniversary. It was my first time at layering a cake. After stacking the layers, I figured out that I should have checked the sizes on my pans. Each layer seemed too close to being the same size as the next and it didn't really leave me enough space to add roses or other decorations to the tiers. But I'm going to keep trying. Every cake made is more practice for me and that's what I need :)

Birthday Cookie
Made for my sister in law. I don't have a giant cookie pan yet, so I baked this in a pie pan. I think it turned out okay though. It was my first "big" cookie. I've tried the ones from some of the grocery/chain stores and I'm personally not real crazy about the texture of them. Almost like eating raw cookie dough, so I used a recipe I found online. Not sure, but I think it was from the Betty Crocker website. Anyway, this was my first one and I was kind of surprised that it turned out pretty good.
