Apple Cake Pops
First attempt at cake pops - made my first cake balls earlier in the week. These were WASC with cream cheese frostng, Added a few mini choc chips for seeds - although didn't come out well in the picture, the popsicle stick moved them out of place. Dipped in red candy melts, royal icing decorations. Need more practice wth piping, but everyone at the party flipped over them! Based on Bakerella's cake pops. Tried pretzels for stems, but with the stick, it caused the ball to slide down the stick!!! Thanks to the cc'ers who helped me with these!

Combo Baby Shower/birthday Cake
We decided to combine the Birthday and shower into one as we don't think Mom will make it to her due date! Dad is German and they are raising their children to be bilingual, so I found how to write Happy Birthday on the internet. Thanks to AmyTracy1981 for the inspiration and help. Buttercream present with fondant accents, head covered with fondant. This was a lot of cake, 3 8" squares and the sports ball pan. Lid of box is cardboard covered with cake foil and fondant. Still have some issues with fondant work, but slowly improving! TFL

Barbie Birthday
This was my first doll cake, first time using fondant, first time using piping gel. I had never used fondant or gel before and had no clue - at least I read the box of Wilton fondant and found out I had to put BC underneath!! I bought red piping gel since I knew I only wanted a tiny bit for the dog's tongue - so he ended up looking like he was bleeding!

Beach Lover Birthday
One of my coworkers loves going to the Outer Banks of NC, so I did a beach cake for her. WASC with buttercream, blanket, table and umbrella are painted gumpaste, found all the little cutsey beach items at the craft store. She is also a Nascar fan, so the little magazine that came with the cooler was perfect. Sand is brown sugar and graham crackers.

Fondant Birthday Cake
First time stacking fondant cake after taking Wilton course 3. Did not learn this when I took Wilton in the early 80's. Key lime WASC for one tier, White chocolate WASC for other tier, key lime curd filling and white chocolate ganache. The key lime overpowered the white chocolate. Royal icing lillies, forgot to add piping gel, so the edges were a little rough. Ribbon borders.

Taco Salad
Taco salad cake for Team in Training fundraiser. Chocolate cake base with choc. frosting, candy clay lettuce/cheese, licorice olives cut with wide and narrow end of round icing tip, gummy tomatoes, buttercream sour cream and guacamole. Was supposed to be a fondant/gumpaste shell, but it broke, so I broke it up into pieces for chips.

Sea Turtle Birthday
Thanks to val25dejesus for the inspiration. Fondant covered sea turtle and flippers highlighted with bronze luster dust. RKT head, gumpaste daisys and bow. Already have had request for another of these, will do cookie flippers so they have more substance. Coworker birthday who is breast cancer survivor, loves sea turtles, and has red lips tatooed on her rear so cancer can kiss it.

Baby Shower For Boy
Lemon cake with blueberry filling. Friend gave me the picture from another web site and thankfully, they wrote how they did it, joined cc about the same time and learned how to work with RKT. Fondant on the leg was too thin and tore, so I added the bear to cover the tear. Buttercream with fondant decorations, feet and legs RKT, ball pan for rump, 10 inch round. I imprinted the blanket with the fondant roller that came with the Wilton Fondant/Gumpaste course.

Red Hat Bridal Shower
I found the picture of my first tiered cake I did a few years ago. It was for a red hat bridal shower, and I could not think of how to do hats as I had never worked with fondant or gumpaste. I iced in buttercream and found little hats at the craft store, added ribbons and silk flowers. I did not know how to support the layers, but I put it together at the party. I did put a few dowels in and a plastic separator plate after reading up on how to do tiered cakes

Tnt Kick-Off Cake
I am fundraising for Team in Training for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. I am decorating cakes to help me raise funds. So I did this cake for our Kick-Off to advertise my fund raiser. The logo is an edible image. I piped the figures freehand, but next time I will do them in Royal Icing, as these bled a little onto my white background.
