Replica Wedding Dress Cake
This was a replica of the bride's wedding dress done for a bridal shower. It consists of 2- 12" layers, 4 9"layers, 2- 8"layers and 3- 6"layers. The bust was done in rice crisp cereal and covered with fondant. It ended up being about 3 feet high. I made a few sugar roses and all done with MMF. Since the dress was entirely made of lace, I used a piece of lace fabric to lay over the rolled out fondant to make the lace impression that I needed. Cake was vanilla butter cake with alternating fillings of strawberry and chocolate ganache. This was my first cake of this magnatude and I was up for a straight 31 hours working on it....but it was worth it. The client loved it! To reply to several of your comments: Thanks for all your sweet comments. I had overbooked myself that week and ended up speding the last 36 hours before the cake was due working on it with no sleep, but it was worth it. We were out the door with 1 hour to spare. The transporting took a couple of years off my life...LOL. CindyCakes: Thanks for the "good as Food Network" comment. I am honored! and LaurieKailee: the bust was RKT covered in buttercream and thick fondant. I wanted a fabric texture to look like the a real one so i used my linen apron to roll the linen impression into it. Hard to see in the pics but it really looked like linen fabric. And no...I didn"t charge enough, but it was for a magazine editor and she is featuring my cakes in her next Bridal edition so I thought the trade off was fair :-)) I

Fiery Dragon
This is a layerd cake volcano covered in grey buttercream and royal icing lava with orange, red, and yellow edible glitter. The dragon is hand sculpted out of fondant with a little tylose mixed in so it would get hard. The wings were made seperately out of gumpaste. Everything was hand painted. the tiny shield and sword were gum paste as well.

Circles N Squares
This ia a buttercream covered cake. Hexagon shaped bottom and round top. It was my first try using modelling chocolate. I used modeling chocolate for all the black cut-outs. It was really easy to work with. I'll definately be using it more in the future. I finished it off with silk flowers chosen by the Bride and silver dragees accent the squares and circles.

Veggietales Birthday With Bob N Larry
Buttercream coverd cake with fondant tiles (like the kitchen counter in the cartoon) Bob the Tomato is carved cake covered with fondant and Larry the Cucumber is RiceCrisp Treat covered in fondant. I originally had made a party plate out of gumpaste to match the party plates to sit under the small cake tier that Bob is sitting on but just before I painted it, I dropped and shattered it...so thats a real plate :-) Everything else is edible, even the little peas with their forks!
