Gumpaste shoes modeled after real shoes that I was giving as a gift for my sister's baby shower. The worst part was the shower was canceled because of one of many blizzards on the East Coast so I never got to make the cake these were going on :( I'm making a Christening cake for her next month. Maybe I can use them for that!
Made for a a friend's granddaughter's 5th birthday. Hard to tell from the pic but everything on the cake is airbrushed in shimmer color - YIKES! Star "stage" on top is RKT covered in fondant. A guitar was added later but didn't get a pic of the finished cake.
Made for a friend's son's 1st birthday with a fiesta theme. Lots of thanks to DianeLM for all her help and cool design! The sombrero is 6' rounds of pound cake with a oversized cupcake on top, carved, and covered in fondant. The brim is fondant/gumpaste molded in a large pasta bowl for several days. Bottom cake is a 13x10 oval - half is pound with IMBC and the other half is yellow cake with chocolate hazelnut IMBC. Serape is made of multiple pieces of fondant airbrushed with color. Maracas are RKT covered in fondant. TFL :)
Made this for a friend's son's first birthday. The baseball cap topper is RKT covered in fondant. 6" tier made to look like a baseball with red RI stitching. 9" tier is inspired by a baseball glove - each panel is "laced" together with "leather" laces and ties on the cake board. Each panel has a baseball themed picture. Cakeboard is a baseball diamond covered with RI grass and graham cracker crumbs for dirt around the bases. TFL!
Made this cake for a friend's daughter's first birthday. 9" and 12" tiers with 1/2 of the Wilton sports ball pan for the ladybug on top. The pictures are blurry but they're all I have :(
Made this for a 40th wedding anniversary party. Took lots of 'inspiration' from many others on CC - thanks!!! Travel stickers are from places they've lived and visited over the years with other personal touches all made of fondant. Cake is an 8x8 and an 8x4 covered as one. Luggage tag is red in honor of their Ruby (40th) anniversary.
Cake for my son's first birthday! I made the cake based on his favorite toy - the Animal Train. He LOVES that thing :) The best compliment was that my husband kept mistaking the RKT monkey for the toy monkey :) The animals (number 1 with details added to look like a giraffe and the monkey) are RKT covered in fondant. There was also an elephant but that went horribly wrong in the middle of the night - I will have to post those pics later. The top of the train car with the 1/giraffe is also RKT. The train is made of an 8x8 and an 8x6 carved to get the rounded front. TFL!
Made this for a friend's baby shower. 6" and 9" rounds. Alternated sanding sugar on each column of diamonds (Ateco diamond cutter set) and used sanding sugar on the border for each tier. Baby blocks are fondant covered RKT with fondant accents and luster dust. Silver dragees in the center of each flower between diamonds.
This was my submission for the Threadcakes contest. I just saw it on Cake Wrecks as a Sunday Sweet! I can't believe it - I'm so flattered :) It's my first topsy turvy cake (oval layers). I used cake scraps and icing to make the tomatoes (like a Bakerella cake ball).

Made this for a friend's baby shower - the gender wasn't know so there was a froggy theme. The frog was the first thing I ever attempted to sculpt (fondant/gumpaste) - I obviously have no art training ;-)

The Pantheon in Rome - the dome, columns, moulding, steps, etc all made from fondant/gumpaste. My first attempt at a cake that is supposed to look like something :) Made this cake for my brother's graduation from college - he was a Classical Studies major.
