Birthday Cake For Hubby - Roses
This is my first frosted cake that was circular (in other words, not a character pan). I made it in my fourth and final Wilton class. The roses were much easier than I thought. A bit time consuming and you can't be too picky. I also found that to get smooth edges I had to buy the pre-made Wilton frosting. My own stiff frosting ended up having ragged edges. My teacher said it could be because I beat the frosting on high speed. Please say hi w/ a comment as you pass by!

Dragon Cake - Wilton Pan
I made a wonderfully delicious cake recipe with Carmel and chocolate chips. The cake didn't come out of the pan! I pieced it back together and decorated it anyway. It turned out pretty good considering! The little foot looks more like a chicken, but oh well. I'm still working on how to get the right colors for stuff. Thanks for looking! Cupcakes - Bears & Flowers
I love the bears. You make the bears with various size of circle tips. Largest circle tip for his face. Medium circle tip for his snout and ears. The rest is a small circle tip. Easy and cute! This is right after the third day at the Wilton class. The drop and twist flowers are really cute and easy. But, hard if you didn't have a good stiffer frosting. Wilton Smurf Character Cake
Coloring icing is hard! This is my first iced cake, decorated May 18, 2009 as part of the Wilton class. I couldn't get a good red! I even tried putting some red baby food in the icing. My icing turned out yellow instead of white to start off with, because I used half butter and half butter flavored shortening to make the icing. I didn't have black coloring, so I used cocoa to get brown. I learned a lot! The smurf is holding "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamont, because this cake is for my book club!
