The cakes are hexagon shaped and iced with whipped icing. I used the back of a spoon to get the textured look and wrapped the bottoms in ribbon.
This was my first attempt at a topsy turvy cake for my niece's 13th birthday. It was a little easier than I thought it would be so I may try something a little more elaborate for my next one. It's covered in fondant with fondant accents and gumpaste topper.
The wine bottle is made out of chocolate and the label is an edible image that has the recipient's picture on it. The box panels are made out of fondant and I used a wood grain impression mat to imprint the design and then painted it with gel color.
I used the stand up bear pan without the ears to make Cookie Monster. His eyes are fondant and I used the grass tip to make his fur. The cookies are actual Chips Ahoy. I was too tired after the cake to bake cookies:)
I used the stand up bear pan and carved it and covered it in fondant to make the penguin. The igloo is the half ball pan and the little characters are made out of RKT and covered in fondant. I used a whipped icing sprayed with lustre spray to get the shimmery snow effect.
