Monkey Birthday Cake
My first stacked cake. WASC with cookies and cream filling, fondant accents (coconuts, bananas, palm trees) #2 was made out of gum paste. For a friends little boys birthday who loves monkeys. Thanks to lecrn for her help with my monkeys. I was very worried about this one but I think it turned out pretty good.

Fire Helmet
This was my first attempt at a fire helmet. I was not as neat as I would have liked it to be, but my husband liked it a lot. I was having problems with my fondant, both MMF and Satin Ice, it was just too humid. My original shield broke so I had to make another one at the last minute, which only lasted long enough for a picture and for my husband to see it. Thanks for looking. Oh, and sorry about all the junk in the background, once it was finished, it was too heavy to move. Tried to crop it out, but it didn't work.

1St Tiara Attempt
This is just a practice run at a tiara that I want to make for my daughter's birthday cake. I drew the tiara by hand and a friend of my husband turned that into a clean digital image that I could work with. I was just happy to get it to look pretty good on the first attempt. Learned a lot and still have time to make a few more before I actually need it.

Butterflies
NFSC with Antonia 74 Royal Icing. Just for fun. Playing with colors and consistency of RI. Tried applying with a bottle rather than a piping bag and it was much easier, neater and much less waste. My 2 year old said "they beautiful Mommy" and that's good enough for me. Thanks for looking!

Star Cake
Didn't know where to put this so since I made it for the guys at the fire station this is where I picked. This was my first successful fondant cake. Everything came into place and I was so excited to actually have fondant work the way everyone said that it would. WASC cake, MMF - Not fancy, but I was happy. Yeah, it worked!!!

Easter Basket Cake
New to decorating, got the picture off the Wilton site and followed the directions. Handle and leaves were made days ahead and allowed to dry. Cake and cookie eggs were made and assembled on the same day. Handle was put on Easter morning and promptly fell off and broke into 4 pieces. After the shock wore off and with the help of my husband I reinforced it with wire in the broken ends and on the back. No one even knew until they noticed the wire on the back (no time to camoflauge).
