The bottom of this cake was made with poured isomalt to represent the emerald city. I sustained a very bad burn doing this, so please don't forget to wear gloves! My finger was in bandages for 3 weeks, yuck! The top portion is gum paste and black fondant. I enlarged a program from the show, and replicated it in sugar. I used black and pearl disco dust. Gold edible paint actually went onto the isolmalt very well if you ever wish to try it. I was up all night with the details before my duaghter's birthday, that I didn't have a chance to get professional photos. Hopefully you can all get see some of the details.
