Seminary Grad
I made this cake for my cousin's graduation from the seminary. It was made of two cakes, each sized 11 x 15, so it was quite large. I transported this cake over three hours to get there and it made it in one piece. Phew! One side was chocolate, the other was vanilla. It's covered in fondant. The stained glass is piping gel. The letters are royal icing.

Butterfly Cake
This was white cake that I "tie dyed" with food coloring so it was just as colorful inside as it was outside. I used "Twinkie" filling and covered in buttercream before covering with fondant. I airbrushed the green on the fondant covering. Then applied my butterfly template with the gel/wax paper transfer technique. I then went over that with piping gels. The flowers and decorations are fondant.

Lions Wrestling (High School)
This was made for our Wrestling Banquet. Our mascot is a Lion and I traced him on wax paper with royal. I used a brush to create the texture on the red portion of the lion. The letters are royal also - I traced them ahead of time and just peeled them off and put them on when I assembled the cake. It's a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting. I used the ganache for the piping too - the first time I've ever done that. It worked really well.

Royal Icing Letters
Just an idea of those of you who hate free writing letters on a cake. I printed out a font I wanted to copy and laid wax paper over it. I outlined the letter shape with one color of royal icing (thicker consistency) then filled it in with thinner white royal. Now I can peel and stick them on the cake and not have to worry about my terrible handwriting on the cake LOL.

Life's Journey
I did this cake for my nephew's graduation. It is actually (2) 11 x 15 cakes (one was white and one was chocolate) I put them together and frosted it to look like one huge cake. It is supposed to look like a highway connecting the three states of Oregon (where he lived as a baby), Texas (where he grew up) and Missouri (where he's going to college). All the decorations are fondant and food coloring.
