Baby Boy Shower Cupcakes
My first real attempt at gum paste modeling, and some of the first cupcakes I've done. The cupcakes were made to match a nursery that had a very unique log cabin theme with light blonde wainscotting. Wanted to make sure they were true to the parent's taste but still said 'baby'. The cupcakes are chocolate with chocolate ganache. Thanks for looking, and any comments welcomed! I liked the bear the best, can you tell?

My Wedding Cake
I got married this past Friday and I was a brave little soul and decided to make my own wedding cake. That's actually one of the main reasons I got into caking this past summer. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Only the very bottom tier is real (feed 80 people), the other four are dummies. I really wanted a BIG cake lol, what better opportunity to make an over the top cake then your own wedding? The cake was devli's food chocolate cake with whipped ganach made with Kahlua.

Daisy Wedding Cake
The only specifics the customer had for this cake: offwhite, green somewhere (any shade), and maybe daisies. It was fun to play with it. I did get the feeling that they didn't want anything 'over the top' so I kept it simple and sweet. This is the first floral spray I've done, after spending a few days working on it I almost didn't use it for the cake, but after taking the night away from it I decided it was decent enough to use. I had a hard time with the fondant. I thought I hated humidity for what it does to my hair... nothing compared to how much I hate it now! My poor poor fondant.

Lv Purse Cake
Classic vanilla cake with caramel buttercream covered in fondant. This is the second purse cake I've done, the first one with so much detail. I had to change the handles at the last minute (the ones I had made hadn't dried enough). I'm not happy with how the improvised ones turned out, but next time I'll know what to do. The logos were done with a stencil and gold shimmer airbrushing.

Blue And Silver Grad Cake
The first real tiered cake I've done. It's for a grade 6 graduation/farewell. The bottom tier is MESSED up... I've got a long way to go before I can do a decent job. But I learnt a bunch on this cake! So onwards and upwards. Thanks for looking and comments are very appreciated.

Pink And Black Purse Cake
I made this cake real quick. There was an event and a friend's children's school that I wanted to donate a cake to, but only found out about last night haha. So I quickly threw together my first purse cake with some leftover coloured fondant from a minnie mouse cake. I'd really like to do a more detailed purse cake, but it turned out decent for what it is. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake
Made this cake for my niece's first birthday. My sister loved it (I suspect it was more for her than my niece, as she's loved Minnie Mouse since we were kids.) It was the first time I've made a cake like this, with laying down pieces of fondant individually, I struggled a bit at first (thus the screw up on the bottom of the face). But I started to get the hang of it towards the end. Hopefully next time I do a cake like this it can turn out much better. Thanks for looking! Comments very welcome.

Baby Boy Button Cake
The pillow cake and booties were made using a tutorial and template from CC (i love all you people who help out us newbies with such great resources. My second time doing a pillow cake and second time doing gum paste shoes (last was heels). I'm not thrilled with the way some of it turned out (some technical difficulties shall we say). But I do love my Buttons! All decorations made with 50/50 fondant/gum paste.

Fairy Tale Cake
This cake turned out very different than how I had envisioned going in. Had a lot of improvisation to do haha. First time doing gum paste roses, first time making a tiara (which is chocolate melts),and first time using a lace mold. Decently pleased with the out come, but I've still got a long way to go before I can be happy with my cakes. Thanks for looking, and comments are always welcome :D

My 25Th Bday Cake
Alot of firsts on this cake, first time using stenciling, first time doing some royal icing flood work, first time wanting to smash a cake half way through (okay that's a lie, wasn't really the first time, but the first time I came that close). It's a chocolate fudge cake with dark chocolate ganache. Reasonably happy with how it came out in the end.
