Patriotic Candy Barrel Cake I made for our annual BBQ on the 4th of July!

Like everyone else, I had to try Bakerella's candy box cake. Mine isn't nearly as cute as hers, but I think it will taste good, and that's the important part!
We're having a big dinner with Lasagna and other Italian favorites and I am supposed to bring dessert. They said just make cake balls or something easy... Italian... cake balls... made me think of meatballs! So I made a devil's food cake with raspberry filling, covered in cream cheese noodles, with cake ball meatballs, and raspberry/chocolate marinara and white chocolate grated on top. Probably the funniest cake I've ever made, and I can't wait to eat a piece!
Made some cake balls with the candy mold for the bottom. Thanks for the idea Bakerella! They look like cute little Valentine's cupcakes.

My friends loved the candy barrel cake, so I wanted to try to make a Christmas looking one for a get-together tonight.
I made 3 cakes for my Mom's 60th birthday. 10" button box, with candy melt button. (Used First Impression mold for some), 8" with gum paste teacup and flowers, and 6" with "60" and gum paste brooches. They were fun to make and my Mom loved them! TFL!

Two friends and I all have summer birthdays, and we're getting together tonight to visit, so I made us a birthday cake! It's a 3 layer 8" cake, 2 layers dark devil's food, 1 layer raspberry cake, with raspberry filling. Covered in Butter cream with fondant daisies and fondant band at the bottom.
This was my final cake from the Wilton decorating basics class last night. It turned out ok, considering I never did get the hang of those roses in the short amount of time we had to practice! It's an 8" peanut butter cake with chocolate chocolate chip filling, so it will taste good no matter what it looks like!!
I have a friend who loves bacon. I had to try making him a bacon cake for his birthday. His last name is Fletcher, and we have a brand of bacon here called "Fletcher's", so I tried to make it look like a package of Fletcher's bacon. It's just a 9x13 devil's food covered in fondant with a frozen buttercream transfer for the package label. It kind of looks gross... but he loved it, and it tasted good!

Giant cupcake I made for our 4th of July BBQ. Used Big Top silicone cupcake pan. Peanutbutter cake with chocolate pudding filling. Iced with buttercream and fondant stars.
This is a cake I made for a friends husband. It was a surprise for him. She said she wanted bowling and red white and blue, as they were celebrating on the 4th of July. I looked on here for ideas and found one by carmenid that I really liked. Mine is a 10 inch devils food cake with a half a sports ball for the bowling ball. The pins are gumpaste. Cake is iced with buttercream and fondant accents. Thanks for your help carmenid!
