Cars birthday cake for my 3 year old
Purple suitcase cake made in way too big of a hurry for farewell party. Got idea from Melz (amazing suitcase) thanks Mel. Had issues with fondant as you can see by the corners and had such a hard time doing suitcase trim...couldn't get it thin enough. Maybe next time I won't wait until a few hours before the party to start making the cake :-(
My first attempt at covering a cake in fondant, using dowels to stack a large cake...what a disaster...you can see the dowels on top of the cake and I ran out of time so no decorations on the diaper bag. But the mom to be loved it...good enough for now. The cake was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
I got this idea from a cupcake book I got at Costco and from CC. Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. Bunnies are fondant. Fence is chocolate graham crakers and veggies are made from candies. Thanks for looking.
This was my first try at using fondant and gum paste...I had a blast making this cake!
