Where Next?
I made this for my husband's birthday. He is an avid biker and will soon be finishing a milestone in his life that will mean another family move so I wanted to depict him looking at a map trying to decide where to go next. The cake was chocolate with chocolate BC frosting. All accents are fondant apart from the bike which is a bit of a mess. I used cocktail sticks and mini marshmallows which I covered in chocolate and attempted to cover that with fondant. I used oreos for the wheels. I had planned on using RI but didn't get around to doing it in time to have it dry fully.

Golf And Sunbather
This cake was made for two friends having a birthday, one who is an avid golfer and the other is a beach babe from CA. Had a few issues with keeping the man upright, but it seemed to work out ok in the end. I used lots of spaghetti which poked through his leg at one stage. Cake was vanilla with strawberry filling with cream cheese BC frosting. Figures were fondant as were the putting green and sand bunker which had brown sugar on top.

Roses And Cornelli
I had loads of trouble with this cake. Firstly chocolate crumbs all over the icing even though I did a crumb coat - I don't think I left it dry for long enough. Then I placed the top layer off-center (any tips for this as I have done this before). I had to change my plan and went with cornelli to cover up the crumbs. I did buttercream roses but had difficulty getting them onto the side ledge especially on the really narrow side - any tips for this? Hopefully they will still be attached tomorrow morning when my friend comes to pick them up for her parent's anniversary party. Anyway, I think it turned out ok in the end, but not my best work (of my limited work) to date! Tonight is a night where I ditch any long term plans to do this for real money. Hopefully the next cake will get me enthused again.

Farm Meadow
This was my first go at fondant figures. I made them out of half fondant/gum paste. Had some issues with them looking a little dry and cracked but they are still cute. Fence is a little pathetic but overall I am happy with the cake which is for a friend's daughter's 3rd birthday. The grass is really fun to do - that was a first also.

Baby Cake
I made this for a friend with a new baby. It was my first time using fondant and I was pretty happy with the result, although it was a pretty simple figure. The details are a bit rough and my basket weave was not great. Sometimes I just seem to run out of steam when it comes to the finishing.
