I made this cake for my daughter, its 10" round and 7" round cakes covered in fondant. bottom tier has "quilted" pattern, and colorful buttons I made out of fondant. top tier has patches and frosting "stiching". I really didn't care for the top tier, I would definitely change the design next time. I used toys on this cake because my daughter really wanted the minis, and since I also did my son's cake, it was much easier and faster
I made this cake for my son's birthday, the donkey kong barrel is two 6"x3" round and one 5"x2" round cakes, slightly carved to get that contoured look, covered in fondant. bottom tier is 9" round covered in fondant with buttercream detail. the road is fondant, as well as the turtles, stars, bananas, and mushrooms. everything else are toys... I know I could've made the characters out of fondant, but my son really enjoys playing with the toys, and it was faster for me, since I did this cake, and a cake for my daughter in the same night.

if i were to choose the colors I would've done a lighter pink , but mom wanted hot pink.. i am happy with the results though, carriage is 6" ball carved a little, covered in fondant with fondant details, atop 10" and 12" cakes that are frosting with fondant details
