Colton's Tractor Cake
Made for my son's 3rd birthday, which is June 30th. We celebrated his birthday on the 4th of July and this cake fit the theme perfectly. Case IH actually put this tractor out back in 1976, it was called the Spirit of '76. I made Colton's tractor to say Spirit of '03, the year he was born. Cake stacked up and carved, iced in buttercream, then covered in fondant and finally painted. I wish I had allowed myself more time to get some more details on the cake, but he loved it anyway.

Preschool Graduation Cake
This is the cake I made for my daughters graduation from preschool. I used 2 10-inch rounds stacked on bottom and 2 6-inch rounds stacked on top. The cake is iced in buttercream with the letters, numbers and shapes cut from fondant. The graduation cap I purchased the morning of the graduation, because I didn't know they were actually wearing graduation caps and receiving diplomas at the ceremony until they had their practice that morning. My original intention was to have the stars standing up on the top, but they didn't dry completely so I bought the cap instead and made due. They stars on top have the 5 childrens names on them that were graduating from the class. The cake was a hit with the kids!!

Sewing Cake
My great-aunt, Linda, called yesterday and asked me to make a sheet cake for her neighbor/friends birthday. I threw this cake together in 24 hours, luckily I had all the supplies I needed, I even had a box. It is a 12x18 sheet cake iced in buttercream with fondant accents. Linda had no idea what to put on the cake and I asked if the birthday lady had any hobbies and she said sewing, so I went from there. I made a spool of thread, scissors, thimble, needles, buttons and a ruler/tape measure.

Tinkerbell Cake
An 8-inch round white cake, iced with buttercream. I cut the Tinkerbell out of fondant and handpainted her with gel food colors mixed with clear vanilla. The flowers are also cut from fondant and the green dots are buttercream. The swirly yellow on the sides is too resemble the pixie dust trail the fairies leave behind them when they are flying.

Police Car Cake
This cake was done for a lady who was retiring from the police force. She had worked for four local police departments, Bloomington, Normal, ISU and McLean County. So this car is four different departments all in one car. The front third is for McLean County, the middle third is for Normal, the back third is for Bloomington and the roof has Reggie Redbird for Illinois State University. All the details were hand painted onto the fondant using Wilton colors thinned with clear vanilla. The finished car measured 16 inches long by 7 inches wide.

Anniversary Cake
I made this cake for my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary. It was 3 tiers and 2 10-inch round cakes on the side. I tried to make the heart topper to match the ones that were on their original wedding cake (which were probably made of plastic) out of royal icing. The roses are also made from royal icing. This was the first time I'd ever done a ruffle. I put a lot of work into this cake and all they asked me to make was a sheet cake for their big anniversary party. I loved this cake when it was completed.

Barbie Cake
I made this Barbie cake this past fall for my daughters birthday. I used the doll pan, along with a 10-inch round pan. First I put down the 10 inch round and then sat the baked doll cake on top and carved the 10-inch round to match the gown of the doll pan. I had to add the 10-inch round cake underneath because the Barbie was too tall for the doll pan. I placed the Barbie in the cake after I iced the cake with BC, I wrapped the dolls legs up with plastic wrap so she wouldn't be so dirty when we pulled her out of the cake. I tied the Barbie dolls hair up to keep it from getting icing on it and then I placed the fondant dress on her and then I painted her dress with a mixture of clear vanilla and shimmer powder. This was only my 2nd time working with fondant and I had trouble getting the dress on her without ripping, but I finally got it. My daughter was pleased.
