Artist Palette Birthday Cake
My daughter loves to draw and paint, so for her 8th birthday we came up with this design. It's an artist's palette shaped cake with my daughter's original artwork, on fondant "canvases" all around the sides. We also had fun painting food coloring on the sides to add interest and color. It's all fondant with buttercream paint blobs. Thanks for looking!

Blue And Gold Cub Scout Banquet Cake
I had so much fun making this, yall! Chocolate and yellow cake, with chocolate chip cookie dough filling, buttercream icing, covered in fondant and buttercream. All decorations are edible. Figures from fondant, ice cream cone trees (one on a pretzel rod), whole wheat spaghetti for marshmallow roasting stick. The theme for the banquet was the 100th anniversary of scouting in america, so I hid "100's" all over the cake. Some were obvious but some were tiny. There were 22 in all. Thanks for looking, and thanks to all the "camping" cake inspiration on this site!

First Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my son who just turned one. It's a 2-layer cake (one chocolate, one yellow) with chocolate buttercream frosting (serious_cakes) and covered in fondant with fondant accents. I dont' have a hexagon cake pan so I used rounds and cut it into a hexagon. Each panel represents one of my son's bibs....a cute series of bibs with a word and a picture to create a phrase (like "stud muffin").

Hobbit House Birthday Cake
For my son's 9th birthday, and my first attempt at some sculpting. Cake is covered in fondant and all decorations are fondant and buttercream. Garden dirt is graham cracker crumbs and oreo cookie crumbs mixed together. So much fun to make! Tried to copy the closing scene of Return of the King...Samwise's house. TFL, y'all!

Beach Theme Baby Shower Cake
Based on a cake by sugarshack (thanks for the great inspiration!). 3 tiered cake covered in fondant, with fondant and gum paste decorations. For my sister's baby shower (Reilly is a girl). Used a scrapbooking font for inspiration for the piped lettering. Hope you enjoy it!

Drop String Cake
Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter buttercream and Chocolate Ganache filling. This cake was for a church function, and I added the drop strings at the last minute. I have never done them before and didn't have time to do any measure marking, but I think they turned out pretty good for a beginner!

Practice Cake--Welcome Back
Made this cake for my sis and her family who came back from a short trip. I tried YouTube's SeriousCakes recipes for buttercream and yellow cake and they were both REALLY good! Yum. I also tried the Viva method for buttercream smoothing. HELLO! It looked like fondant. Awesome. The flowers were half copied from other people's work and half just made up on the spot. I especially like the bicolor flower on the inset there...that came from just playing around with the ribbon tip. Fun! Next time I will use a smaller tip for the wording...too bulky. Thanks for looking.
