this is the cake I made for my mother's 50th birthday. it is heart shaped covered with buttercream. each tier is a layer of chocolate then strawberry with a filling of strawberry cream cheese. the ribbon is just a satin ribbon. The color ended up a darker pink than I intended, but it worked.
covered the whole cake with fondant. the ears are styrofoam covered in layers of fondant to get the size I wanted. This was the first time I ever used fondant. I couldn't have done it without the inspration from other decorators on cake central and the help of my mom.
