A friend of mine has a daughter who was having a duct tape party. They were creating crafts and decorating the party all with different duct tape. She asked me to come up with a cake to match. There wasn't a lot of ideas out there so I covered the cake board in actual duct tape and then created a cake that is supposed to look like it's being decorated in duct tape. They loved it!
My daughter wanted a "ballerina cake" for her birthday so I decided to combine her love for Hello Kitty and ballerinas in her cake. This is what I came up with! She loved it!
My son wanted a lego Darth Vader cake with a real fabric cape. This is what I came up with. I had the absolute worst time with the fondant! It must be the humidity because for some reason I always have trouble with my son's cakes. Of course his bday is in late August!
My friends' son was having a magic themed birthday party. He wanted a rabbit coming out of a hat for his cake so this is what I made him. Thanks for the inspiration @ CC!

My friends son was having a disco party and asked me to come up with a cake. Thanks for all the inspiration on CC! The disco ball is a Styrofoam ball with cut pieces of shiny scrapbook paper. The rest is fondant.
A friend's daughter insisted she wanted a cat cake for her birthday. She's a huge fan of Cake Boss and must have gotten the idea from watching the shows. I wasn't so sure, because I don't have a lot of experience with 3D cakes, but she turned out kind of cute. :)
I made this for the cake walk at my son's school. I saw the design on here, but I can't remember who's it was. It was such a cute/simple design that I couldn't resist!
