Pirate Ship cake for my son's 4th birthday. Got the idea off of familyfun.com
Inspired from many cakes seen here on CC. I made an 11x15 sheet cake and carved the shape I desired. I used the ball pan, but cut most of it away to get a better proportion. Iced in BC. First attempt at cornelli lace and the ribbon border, if that's what its called.... Practiced right on the cake and I think it came out nice. Not happy with the lace down the center though.
This cake got super simplified from what I had intended. Its a 10 inch lower tier, 6 inch top tier. Iced in BC.
This was largely based on the Candy Castle design on the Castle set box and on Wilton's site. With some modifications to the towers everything held fine. This was my first castle cake, first tiered cake, many firsts... Any comments or advice are much appreciated. TFL
I made this for my son's 3rd birthday. He loves the Wiggles and he loved this cake! Everybody who was there thought we had ordered it and I was happy to say that I had made it myself. I'm proud to post it here. TFL!
