I put together this cupcake bouquet for the bake sale at the nursing home. It was so rewarding to over hear someone ask, "Are those pretty flowers for sale?" And hear the surprise when she was told they weren't flowers but cupcakes!
Cake to welcome the baby of some huge sports fans. the top of the cake is the Milwaukee Brewer's team logo done in FBCT. Baby is made from gumpaste. on the bottom tier I did a tie dye look by striping the piping bag with yellow and blue before using it to ice the cake. TFL.
Made this movie themed cake for my daughters' birthdays. Around the bottom are images of my girls thru the past year. Middle layer is a gumpaste box with lights around 2 of the sides to make marquees announcing each child's birthday. This is the first cake I have tried to light up & that presented some challenges. Popcorn on top is real corn attached using buttercream. The girls were delighted with the cake, and that made it all worthwhile!
Thanks to many other CCer's who have done similar designs. I allowed my DD to look at cupcake pix on CC and she picked the Hello Kitty ones. These were fun and easy to make.
Lego birthday cake for twin boys. I used silicone molds I found on Amazon to make chocolate Legos and the Lego men. I used a hot knife to cut the heads off and then switched them with yellow heads for a more authentic look . I also used a hot knife to cut the nubbies off the bricks that were stacked. The cakes were 9 x13 cut down to 8 x 4 and stacked. Fondant nubbies on the cakes with the Lego logo.
A quick baby shower cake. I used pink & brown fondant together in my extruder to make the two-toned rope and then twisted it.
I used two pirex mixing bowls and trimmed around the sides to round off the cake. hand painted design.
Hand crafted gumpaste daisies adorn my largest cake to date. This cake was fun to make and the bride was happy with the creation!
I used piping gel I made with tonic water to create the glow effect. It looks pretty awesome in the blacklight. Will definitely use this technique again.
Easter cake done in the stained glass technique over buttercream. Black royal icing for the "lead" colored piping gel for the "glass" applied with a paint brush.

Did these for the cake walk at the school fundraiser. So easy and yet such a big splash!
Triple chocolate cake, whipped chocolate ganache filling, chocolate buttercream, chocolate ganache, and white chocolate decorations. YUM!
I made this cake for my coworkers birthdays. the picture is FBCT & the faces were actual pix I covered with tape and cut to fit. We work in a nursing home and the lady with the walker turned 65 (Medicare age) and the two therapists also had birthdays the same month, so they are helping her walk. The witch is our admissions coordinator. This cake was tons of fun.

Igloo cake for a co-worker's birthday. Igloo was baked in a Pampered Chef small batter bowl. Penguins are made from fondant.
Baby bump cake and baby blanket. The belly was baked in a pirex bowl and the boobs were done in the mini ball pan. baby foot and belly button hand fashioned out of cake crumbs slightly moistened. Thanks to the many CCers who have done cakes like this.
Cake requested by my nephews. Optimus is FBCT. After smoothing the design out I used the basketweave tip to make the grill detail on his chest and a toothpick to make some detailing on the gun. Sides & top of cake were airbrushed (I am still trying to get the hang of that)
Basket weave technique with a round tip for the basket, then airbrushed brown. Yarn balls made from RKT then covered with buttercream "yarn". My 5 & 8 year old daughters helped make the yarn. Scarves are buttercream on fondant pieces. Knitting needles made from gumpaste. TFL.
Just had to throw together a cake for a bake sale. Went with the corinelli lace and lattice look.
