Every year I make a birthday cake for Jesus at Christmas. This has been a wonderful tradition for my niece. She gets to pick what the theme will be or what she wants me to make to go on top. This year she picked the "Three Gifts". Remember the reason for the season.
This was just a simple cake "present" to say Happy Birthday to Jesus.
I used a large heart shape pan and 2 muffin pans for the "top". My sister suggested using lace that is normally put between the cake & board, around the cake to add a trim of lace. Great idea. Everyone loved it.
I tried to make this book cake a little more geared towards college graduation. All done in fondant and used icing color to add the "old" look. I think it turned out good for the first book cake I've done. Thanks for the ideas from all here at Cake Central.
