Last view. Loved the ribbon roses. To make pages, I used white icing on the side, then ran fork tines through it. After crusting over, brushed with gold luster dust.
Gumpaste tulip daphne, and stephanotis, with tulip leaves. Everything dusted with luster dusts, leaves edged with burgundy. Sitting on a gumpaste 'plaque', so no icing would get on flowers and lady could keep them.
The theme for this shower was yellow, lime green, and turquoise, and airplanes!!! Yikes!! A 6" and 10" cake, with whipped icing. Gumpaste stars and 2 large airplanes made ahead of time, and stuck on thick craft wire. Banner made of gumpaste, writing with royal icing, and hand painted with gold luster dust/lemon extract. Bear on top is made of Sculpey clay (non-edible), so mom-to-be could have a keepsake. Planes on side of cake are chocolate molds.
Made this for a computer teacher. "Paper" made out of gumpaste, with blue and red lines painted on with food color w/ lemon extract. Gumpaste asters (was a September birthday) and stephanotis. Computer,keyboard, mouse made of fondant and hand painted. If you looks close, mouse has an apple painted on it.
Simple 'welcome home baby' cake. Whipped icing, fondant baby, bear, blanket. Ribbon roses and leaves. Writing needs a little work :(
Simple 8" round cake with golf ball. For a mans birthday. Fondant golf ball with dimples, used grass tip for 'ruff' and graham crumbs for sand trap.
Three tier cake (6, 8, 10"), buttercream icing, red, pink, white gumpaste poinsettas on each layer. Poinsettias took forever, but turned out really nice!!
9x13 sheetcake, half ball pan for rocket, and twinkies for the rocket boosters. Whipped icing - so the colors bled together badly. I printed the Einsteins off the computer, then laminated them and stuck them on the cake. Fondant butterflies and flowers.
Did this for a baby shower - nursery decor was green dragonflies, so I worked them in as best I could with a 'garden' theme cake. Bugs are fondant, dragonfly wings are gumpaste, flowers are gumpaste. Iced in buttercream. The 'baby' on top of the cake has dragonfly wings, and is sitting on top of open flower petals to look like it's 'hatching' from a flower. For my son's 2nd birthday - put the #2 candle in the middle of the cake (not shown). Gumpaste fence, silo, barn, and grain sacks (next to barn). Fondant animals. Blue piping gel for pond. Was great fun to make! Thanks to all the animal cakes here on CC for the inspiration!
A 11x15 hand-carved sheet cake with half ball pan for bust. Iced with buttercream, with black accents. Inspired by a cookie I saw on CC.
Smash cake based on "the very hungry caterpillar" book.
For a boy's 1st birthday, based on "the very hungry caterpillar" book. Five sports ball pan halves make the body, red licorice ropes and black icing for feet.
I did this cake for a friends baby shower, the theme was bees. Two 10" and 6" stacked cakes. All buttercream icing, the bees are BC with almond wings, flowers are gumpaste. Banner and baby blanket are gumpaste. Blanket was handpainted with foodcolor and both were brushed with luster dust. BC piped clouds make it look like bees are flying in the sky. Grass done with tip 233.
