My son & I share a birthday. I made little layer cakes for me & pokeballs for my little Pokemon fanatic.
I only have boys so I don't often get to work tiaras into a cake. I made this for my son's class party. Girls outnumbered boys so the the girls' cake was bigger & featured "I love you" in several languages. Boys' layer has kitkats surrounding the cake.
Our youth group did a mission day at the local Boys and Girls Club. I printed the logo off the web & duplicated it on the cake.
I made beach ball cakes as a celebration of the end of school 2008. I also bought dollar store beach balls and donated them to the classroom-tossing them to the kids as I brought in their cake.

My son's school had a snow day on Christmas party day so the celebration had to wait till Jan. I decided to replace the Christmas cake I'd made (& did get to serve) with an After Christmas cake showing the packages unwrapped, the cat climbing the needle-less tree...
Check out the After Christmas cake. We had a snow day on the last day of school so this one never made it to class.
My youngest is a Wheel of Fortune fanatic. I made this for his birthday party at home. For school I made Wheel cookies.
I had so much fun making this for my son's 5th grade class. I saw the light-up JOL in the dollar store and went from there. Great ideas here and on the web.
