Dots & Stripes
This cake was for a 2year old. It is a chocolate cake w/ BC icing & fondant accents. Her mom wanted something pretty & girly but not really a "theme" cake. I showed her a pic of the other Dot & Stripe cake that I made & she really loved the colors. I think the idea transfered well from a larger design to the smaller cake.

Tattoo Logo
I just finished this 10" round cake as a surprise for my tattoo artist. This is the logo of the tattoo shop & it was alot harder than I originally gave it credit for. I went into this cake thinking that it would take me about 2-3 hours & it ended up taking me about 5 hours. But I think it turned out okay. I guess the real seal of aproval will come from the professionals that draw this logo everyday. :) Fingers crossed!

American Flag
I made this cake as an anniversary cake for a friends mom. It was 1/2 chocolate & 1/2 strawberry. This design is actually harder than it looks. (I was a bit over confident going into it) I tried to free hand the stars the first time & wound up with 53 stars ... ? I don't know! :) Had to redo the stars (of course) & it was a bit challenging getting the right amount of stripes to be the right size & fit correctly w/ the blue square. But it all turned out okay in the end. During all of this we were having one hell of a storm. Strong winds & flooding rains were ripping tree limbs down & even took a whole tree down across the street. So while I was making this cake, I was also babysitting my 4 yr old nephew so Dallas (my husband) could help family & neighbors with storm control. Heck of a night!

Second Thomas Train
This is my second attempt at creating this cake. The first time I made this cake was for my nephews 3rd B-day. This time was for my friends son for his 6th B-day. Thomas is a white cake, the cars are (2) strawberry & (2) spice and the sheet cake is chocolate. Everything is covered with BC icing & all parts are edible.

Movie Theater
I was asked to make this cake for my husbands Uncle for his B-day. He has a passion for movies, so after much debating, I decided on an old movie theater cake. He LOVED it! :) It is a chocolate cake covered w/ buttercream, decorated w/ pre-colored fondant. I don't usually use pre-colored fondant (don't like the taste) but red & black are impossible to make.

Aniversary Tiered
This 2 tiered cake I gave to my MIL & FIL for their anniversary. They had a ... shot gun wedding? ... so to speak & they never got a real wedding cake, so I was happy to be able to provide them with a cake of this sort for their anniversary. Everything is edible, I made the flowers from gumpaste & the cake is covered with my homemade Marsh Mallow Fondant (MMF).

Dots & Stripes
This cake was ordered for an 18th B-Day by a "friend of a friend" kind of thing. The girl loves dots & stripes & everything "girly" but she did not want any flowers. Her mom provided me with a napkin of the party decorations to get the colors & theme correct, so I went a head & put on the flowers to match. (she really just didn't want any icing flowers b/c she feels they look to traditional) The bottom cake is a 12" square 4" thick & the top cake is a 10" round 4" thick. The cake is covered with a thick layer of whipped icing & then covered w/ my homemade MMF. The mom was thrilled & I was told that the daughter just absolutely loved it too. I was very proud of this cake. I thought that it turned out really well.

Pink & Black Stars
This cake was for a dear friend of mine whose girlfriends daughter was graduating high school. The daughter & her best friend had a combined grad party, so the cake had to feed a lot. They decided on a full sheet cake, all Red Velvet. (my fav) I heard that the girls "squealed like baby pigs in a hot fire" when they saw the cake. :) (I love hearing good feed back like this.) The black grad caps were attached to candy sticks & were shoved into flower stakes inside the cake.

Bar & Shield
For my husbands 26th B-Day I made him a 2 layer chocolate Harley-Davidson Bar & Shield logo. I didn't have much experience with making black icing, so this was a small challenge. I enlarged a copy of the HD logo until it was the size I needed, then placed the paper pattern on the cake to cut it out. It tasted great, but everyone had discolored mouths from all of the black icing. (I now know to start with chocolate icing & then color it black)

Thomas The Train
For my nephews 3rd B-Day I made him this 5 piece Thomas cake. The train cars are cakes baked in small loaf pans & the train is a 3-D cake mold. I used three 13x19 cake boards to build the track on & sprinkled colored coconut shavings for grass. The cars are hooked together with pull apart style twizzlers & the have tootsie roll axles w/ Oreo cookie wheels. The train track is made from black icing, rice crispies & chocolate covered wafer cookies. Each car is "loaded" with different cargo. The decorating took about 4 hours.

Big Red Car
The cake that started it all. I stumbled upon a web site http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/ that has hundreds of homemade cakes submitted by moms & such. I got the idea for this cake from that site & it was a huge success. I had never made a cake like this before. I used a 3-D car cake pan for the car itself, then I purchased a sheet cake from a local grocery store. This was also my first attempt at making icing from scratch.

Scooby Doo
I made this Scooby Doo cake at the request of a lady from my bank, but I think it looks more like Scrappy Doo personally. I didn't have enough room for his nose to be bigger, so he looks like a puppy. He's cute though. He was covered with chocolate icing & very little buttercream (for colored parts only).

Playboy Bunny
I'm not sure where to post this, so I chose Animals ... ? My husband suggested this design for a friend of ours. She LOVES the playboy bunny logo & her favorite color is pink, so naturally she got a hot pink bunny head! :) She loved it. We went out to dinner with her & some other friends & took the cake with us. It was a hit with everyone who saw it. The cake is Chocolate w/ BC icing & pre-colored fondant bunny

Butterfly Garden
A friend of my MIL had me make this cake for her grandaughters 4th B-day. She provided me with a napkin from the party decortations that I used for inspiration. The cake is red velvet w/ BC icing & fondant accents. I made a few cupcakes out of the left over cake batter, then I cut one in half to make the 2 flower mounds.

Pumpkin Hay Ride
I made this cake for a hay ride that I went to this last Saturday. It was kind of last minute, I was told about it on Thursday & I had to work Friday & Saturday, so I made it after work Friday night & added the leaves on Saturday before I left for the hay ride. The bottom cake is an 11x15 sheet cake 1/2 chocolate 1/2 vanilla & the top cake is 2 Bundt cakes (both spice flavored) one turned on top of the other. I have always made this pumpkin cake for harvest time events, but I have never stacked it on another cake or added any embellishments. Both cakes are covered w/ BC icing & all of the decorations are pre-colored fondant. I usually make my own MMF but I didn't have time. Oh Well! Everyone LOVED it. It was kinda weird being there with my cake. I usually make cakes for other people & don't attend the event. It was neat to be able to interact with everyone & see their reactions to my cake. i hope everyone here enjoys it as much as the hay ride people did.

Graduation Books
This cake was for a repeat customer of mine whose daughter was gradusting from High School. I had never attempted books before but she had her heart set on it. The cap is made from a slushee drink lid (clean of course) & a square piece of cardboard both covered w/ pre-colored fondant.
