Princess Art Cake
This birthday girl knew exactly what she wanted, as seen in her own cake design drawing that I printed as an edible image on the easel at the bottom. She wanted this animal print cake to display her photo on top and also her love of art. She told me which art supplies she wanted on her cake. She requested a GLOO stick (she just turned 6) and though it's spelled incorrectly, her mother asked that I keep it that way. :-) All iced in buttercream and all of the decorations are made of fondant. This was fun; thanks for looking! Thanks to CC for the inspiration, especially to Kalli Cakes & Confections for her wonderful Crayon tutorial!

Strawberry Shortcake
6" & 9" buttercream cakes with fondant strawberries and decorations. Top tier filled with buttercream, bottom tier filled with strawberry whipped cream-cream cheese filling and topped with fresh sliced strawberries. I had trouble trying to get the fondant tops to lie flat, but I never cover cakes in fondant so it isn't something I'm used to doing. I'm good with the results. This was inspired by many internet photos as this seems to be a common Strawberry Shortcake style. Birthday girl loved it...that's all that matters. Thanks for looking. ;-)

Christmas Scene Cake With Stockings
I did this for my mother and her yearly gathering with her siblings. All buttercream with all the decorations in fondant - fireplace is RKT covered in fondant. The mantel has a candle with a two-toned flame, a letter to Santa, chocolate chip cookies with crumbs and a glass of milk. I made stockings for each of my Aunts and Uncles with their names on them. The girls got teddy bears in their stockings and the boys got candy canes. My favorite part is that the stocking stuffers were removable. Mom (Mary) loved it so it was worth all the work. Of course there are a few things I wish I had done differently, but for the most part - for my first Christmas cake, I love how it came out and it was fun. Thanks for looking!

Abby Cadabby
6 & 9 inch buttercream cakes with fondant accents (I LOVE Abby's colors). Abby pics are edible images on fondant. Made this for my great niece. Also made 2 dozen of Abby cupcakes and iced them like her hair. First cake I've done in over 6 months...forgot how much work was involved but it felt great to see her face. (Cake inspired by Marniela among others. Thank you!)

Disney's Snow White And The 7 Seven Dwarfs Cake With Cottage
Dwarf cottage/scenery cake for a little princess' birthday. Two 9x13 cakes filled and stacked, and then another one cut in half and stacked. All buttercream with fondant accents. Except for the figurines and cottage dowels, it's all edible. On the front side is the entrance to the diamond mine and a mine cart filled with diamonds (rock candy crystals) on a track. Cottage is 2 6" square cakes, filled, stacked, carved, iced in buttercream with the cobblestone impression on it. River is lined with chocolate rocks. Around the cake board were the words to their song: "Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, it's home from work we go". All these years, I thought they sang "It's off to work I go"...Lol. I'm pleased with how this turned out. I love the small elements such as the birds, the apples and the tools. Next to this cake, was a Snow White doll cake (should have taken more pics of her). TFL :-D

Music And Dance Birthday Cake
Birthday cake for a pair of dancing friends. All buttercream with fondant decorations. Speakers, hanging mirror ball with a red LED spotlight, dancing silhouettes, records, music notes, shooting stars, swirls, and silver dragees. I'm glad the boys (teens) like it because that is all that matters. I just see all the boos boos. Design wise, it's just as I conceived and sketched it. Execution wise, I wish it were cleaner. But I guess we are always our own worst critic...Lol. TFL :-D
