8" & 6" tiers of French vanilla cake w/pineapple chiffon filling. Buttercream under MMF w/fondant ribbon borders. The gumpaste flowers were supposed to be petunias but I didn't have a petunia cutter so I used a calyax cutter and manipulated the petals until I got what resembled a petunia (at least I thought so). This was inspired by a cake done by Sugarshack.
This was an 8" and 6" WASC with strawberry filling and buttercream icing. The booties, blanket, bat, & ball are all gumpaste. There was also a gumpaste figure of a pregnant lady but I didn't have room for it on the cake so it sat on the cake plate at the shower. The name was a RI runout. This was my first official "event" cake and it actually fell during transport so it was sitting slightly damaged and lopsided at the shower. I was more upset than the mom -to-be!
This was a last minute cake done for a volunteer where I work. The gumpaste plumerias were left overs from my other plumeria cake. The cake was a 6" lemon with lemon curd filling.
This basket is made entirely from modeling chocolate (the stays holding up the sides were sucker sticks dipped in chocolate). The strawberries were fresh, dipped in chocolate.
This was for one of my co-workers who is perpetual teeny bopper. It was a 8" two layer round wrapped around the sides with fondant. The top is buttercream with a black fondant circle on top. That's chocolate smeared on the edge of the TP (sorry, couldn't resist). The figure is hand modeled from 50/50 gumpaste/fondant. The cake was peanut - butter chocolate. It was a big hit with the birthday girl and everyone at work. It was inspired by a cake here on CC. Thanks for looking.
This is my first and only wedding cake so far. It was for my 78 y/o Dad's wedding in Jan 2009. 6", 8", 10" tiers, chocolate, french vanilla, and lemon. Buttercream under fondant w/gumpaste roses. This was very nerve wracking but it turned out okay. These were also my first gumpaste roses. I used a pearl mold for the fondant pearl borders, the ribbon is satin. Thanks for looking.

This was my attempt at a Mike McCarey design. It was for a co-worker's grandson's 1st birthday. It's a 10" French vanilla w/pineapple chiffon filling w/buttercream icing. The dragon and circles are gumpaste, the waves around side and the overlay on top are modeling chocolate.

This cake was for a co-worker's birthday. Her hobby is woodworking. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filing. The nails were gumpaste. I painted with thinned brown gel color. It was inspired by a cake seen here on CC but I can't remember who did it.
This was for my daughter's engagement party. It was a confetti cake with Bavarian creme filling. Buttercream under fondant w/royal icing piping and fondant ribbons. The beads, ring box and rings are not edible. This was a design by Briarview.
