Made at the beach on vacation... and it shows! Friends and family wanted a fun cake, so I decided to try the "candle" cake. It was quick work, and I wish I had spent more time on it. I like the idea of the candle look, and plan on trying again... at home with all of my decorating tools on hand!

I made this cake for my own engagement party. I got the idea from a Martha Stewart Wedding magazine, but used only my wedding colors (pink, yellow, and orange). WASC cake with almond buttercream covered in fondant. The butterflies are attached with white chocolate. Sorry for the background, I took this one as soon as the butterflies were in, and before it was placed on the serving table!

Fresh raspberries dipped in red decorator sugar. The cake was devil's food with homemade raspberry filling. Yummy!
