Valentine's Day Rainbow Friendship Cake
For Valentine's day my daughter had a few friends over for a slumber party. The cake is "rainbow" cake (although I didn't fully think through how I would layer and put the cake together when I did the colored layers so it is not in ROYGBV order). Decorated with BC and valentine's M&M's. Design inspiration came from my 9 year old daughter.

Purim Cake
I made this cake for a faculty lunch at my children's school right before Purim. It is traditional to give baskets of food to friends filled with various goodies so I filled my basket with hamentashen (traditional Purim cookies), mini cupcakes, and chocolate pieces. Other symbols of the holiday are to give money to the needy, the three cornered hamentashen cookies, masks and graggers (noisemakers). 1/2 chocolate/1/2 yellow cake with all buttercream decorations (with the exception of the basket contents). Thanks for looking!

Island Cake
I made this cake for our end of summer "Island Party". I used crushed Nilla Wafers for sand, blue sparkle gel for the ocean, white chocolate/chocolate shells, and fruit roll up for the beach towels. Trees and hula girl are plastic. I also made a small cake for a guests' birthday with similar theme and flowers. Thanks for looking.

The River Runs - Charles River Cake
My daughter's 2nd grade class spent the year studying the Charles River in MA so for their end of year cake I made them a River Cake. Rocks were made by mixing graham cracker or oreo crumbs with frosting and letting harden. Dirt was crushed oreo or graham crackers (depending on if it was dirt or sand). River was made with blue gel over white frosting. Signs were copied from the town signs here in Massachusetts and were made with paper and toothpicks. Thanks for looking.

High School Musical Birthday Cake
11x15 1/2 chocolate/ 1/2 yellow boxed cake mix (with added pudding), buttercream dream frosting. I used Wilton spray red coloring to get the tint on the top. The figures are cut from a plastic High School Musical cup. The other is a candle that I bought. I have 2 single layer cakes frosted in similar style to allow each birthday child their own cake to blow out a candle (and to make sure we had enough cake).
